About Myself
While still in primary school, at the age of 8, I taught myself basic chemical nomenclature and reactions. I could read and write compounds, understand nomenclature, and balance inorganic reactions. At 18, I earned an associate degree in mineralogy, where I learned about chemical and material processes. After college, I worked researching and advising local industries on using local minerals as raw materials in a government laboratory. After three years, I started my own business, developing fertilizers and fungicides formulations and processes using minerals as raw materials. I sold my products from 1986 to 2005, primarily to coffee growers. In 2005, I left my country because Guatemala had become one of the most dangerous countries in the world.
In the late 1990s, I developed soaps and detergents made with minerals. I invented formulations and processes, including the design of machinery to produce a solid soap for hand-washing clothes, as is common in third-world countries.
I had routinely engaged in continuing education, attending university workshops and learning about various subjects, from agriculture to natural medicine formulation.
Since 2005, I have been a permanent resident of the USA, living in New York City, and I obtained two master’s degrees.
How Can I Be Creative?
I have been gaining knowledge and developing commercial products for over 30 years. I have learned about the properties of raw materials, which is very useful knowledge for matching materials with needs. I believe that I have a platform and the know-how to develop and produce commercial products, following a systematic process that begins with understanding the opportunities and then matching material properties. Then, I can produce innovative ideas.
